A Novel Energy-Efficiency Optimization Approach Based on Driving Patterns Styles and Experimental Tests for Electric Vehicles

This article proposes an energy-efficiency strategy based on the optimization of driving patterns for electric vehicle (EV). The EV studied in this paper is a commercial only driven by traction motor. motor drives front wheels indirectly through differential drive. electrical inverter model and power-train efficiency are established lookup tables determined power tests dynamometric bank. problem focused maximizing between wheel battery pack, not to maintain but also improve its value modifying state charge (SOC). solution found means Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. optimizer simulation results validate increasing with speed setpoint variations, show that SOC improved. best obtained when variation 5% 6%.
